ORACLE OF BLIND HOURS

The interactive performance “Das Orakel der blinden Stunden” (The Oracle of Blind Hours) is dedicated to the state of transitioning. Situated between performance and installation, reading and concert, text and music mix with moments of questioning and pausing. Woven into a performative live format of 6 hours, a space to rest, listen, reflect and coming together is created, within which the audience is invited to operate the oracle to influence the unfolding narrative, add their own questions and thereby shape the experience as it evolves.

“There is a figure sitting at the gate.Open eyes looking inside, cut into half. She is sitting there twice. Just a thin veil between the worlds, the wind is whispering. Like the sphinx or some kind of oracle she is sitting with questions, waiting for you to approach. What do you bring? Wishful thinking? Objects? A story,or some sort of desire to see and look? What are you seeking? As you spreading the cards into her lab, eventually she is going to move. The mirror forms it’s shadow self into presence, doubling the world, lifting the veil. Are you going to see? And to hear? Words whispering through touch, trickle into the skin, transforming into the songs of eternity. She is sitting in stillness, the breath is taking every movement ahead. A statue, a dance, a question, a dream. What are you bringing?”

At the heart of the performance lies a reading, seamlessly woven together and accompanied by musical atmospheres. Set into motion within a space designed for lingering and interaction, a communal journey begins to unfold. Personal stories, scientific ideas, and philosophical questions converge, touching on themes of time, death and change. Inspired by the raw nature of Slovenia, the piece takes shape as a fairy tale, a melody, a prayer, a dream, moving through both inner and outer landscapes.

Where can we turn to for guidance?

What is alive in the gaps?

What does it truly mean to change?

How to bring new light to what has been distorted?
